Anna Josepha Hutmacher in Streator, Illinois, where she is buried. Josepha was a small girl with blue eyes, a kind and affectionate person who dearly loved her father, Peter J. She was also very close to her step-mother, Elizabeth Boyle Hutmacher, who reared her. A. Josepha had several opportunities to marry, but while working as a nurse in the hospital at Effingham, Douglas, Effingham, Illinois, USA she decided to become a nun.

In 1910, Peter J. contacted his daughters, A. Josepha and Mary C. who were working at the hospital in Effingham, Douglas, Effingham, Illinois, USA to join the family in Antlers, Oklahoma. They both went to work at the rectory for Father Hubert. A. Josepha worked only a short time at the rectory and returned to the farm, soon to go the convent for training as a nun in Springfield. Illinois. A. Josepha entered the Third Order of St Francis in Springfield, Illinois, 16 May 1910 as Sister Leo. She died of a heart attack at age 30 while serving breakfast to her patients.
