Born on the family farm near Lillis, Marshall Co., KS. Passed away Nemaha Valley Community Hospital, he was the son of Joseph and Helen (Stallbaumer) Boeckman. Attended local schools, graduated from Lillis High School in 1945.

Leonard served US Army from 1951 to 1953 and was stationed in Korea. He was a farmer/stockman and worked homestead West of Lillis. Member of St Josephs Catholic Church, Knights of Columbus, Leo McMinmy American Legion Post 182, and Heart Shocker Support. Leonard married Mary Lou Lueking April 11, 1953, in Lillis.

She survives of the home, other survivors include 5 daughters, 2 sons, 2 sister, 2 brothers, 32 grandchildren, and 8 great Grandchildren. Services will be held St Josephs Catholic Church at Lillis, burial at St Joseph Cemetary.
