Elmer Boeckman, fifty-three, died Tuesday, November 23, 1982 at his home. He had cancer and heart disease.
Elmer was born April 21, 1929 at Lillis, Kansas, the son of Joseph and Helen (Stallbaumer) Boeckman. He was reared in the Lillis community and attended Hayroof Grade School and graduated from Lillis Rural High School. He was a retired armer and dairyman.
He served in the Army from 1955 to 1957. He belonged to the Leo McMinimy Post No. 181 of the American Legion, St. Jseph's Catholic Church and the Knights of Columbus Fitzgerald Council No. 1144 at Lillis, Kansas.
He married Rita Lueking, December 29, 1955 at Lillis, Kansas. She survives.
Others survivors are four daughters, Connie Duerkes, Wamego, Kansas, Mrs. Karen Ladner and Mrs. Paula Lauer of Frankfort, Kansas and Anita Boeckman of the home; three sons, Ron and Andy Boeckman of the home, and Steve Boeckman of Colby, Kansas; three grandchildren Jeremy, Heather, and
Jennifer Ladner; his mother Mrs. Helen oeckman, four sisters, Mrs. Marcella Roeder, Frankfort, Kansas, Mrs. Eileen Meyer, Belleville, Kansas, Mrs. Mary Wells, Centralia, Kansas, Mrs. Rita Bogart, Godley, Texas; two brothers Leonard Boeckman, Frankfort, Kansas and Edward Boeckman of West Deal, New Jersey.
He was preceded in death by his father, Joseph and two brothers Albert and Ernest.
Services were held Friday, November 26, 1982 at 10:30 a.m. at St. Joseph's Catholic Church, Lillis, Kansas with Reverend Tom Dolezal and Reverend Bob Hasenkamp officiating.
Father Bob Hasenkamp officiated at the graveside services at St. Joseph's Cemetery, with military services conducted by Leo McMinimy Post No. 181 of Frankfort, Kansas. The flag was presented to Mrs. Rita Boeckman and will be used in the avenue of flags in Lillis Cemetery.
