Ernest was born June 10, 1916 in Sheboygan to John and Marie Hense Klunck. He served in the U.S. Army Air Force in Europe, with the 346th Fighter Squadron and the 350th Fighter Group from 1942-1946.
On July 22, 1967, he married Ruth B. Marquardt at St. Paul's Lutheran Church, Sheboygan Falls.
Ernest was employed at Tecumseh Products in New Holstein, until his retirement in 1979. He was a County Board Supervisor from 1960-1980. Ernie served with pride on the County Board and was champion of environmental issues. He enjoyed gardening and fishing in his younger years. Mr. Klunck was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church.
Beloved husband of his wife, Ruth; survivors also include three brothers, John (Marie) Klunck, Victor Klunck, Alex Klunck, all of Sheboygan; a sister, Peggy (Paul) Johnson, Cedarburg; a step-son, Ronald Schneider, Sheboygan: and many nephews and' nieces.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded In death by three brothers and a sister.
A memorial service will be held Tuesday, at 7 p m, at Ballhorn Funeral Chapels. The Rev. Galan D. Walther, associate pastor of Trinity Lutheran Church, will officiate. Entombment will take place in Garden Terrace Mausoleum. A time of visitation and support will be held at Ballhorns from 5 p.m., on Tuesday, until the time of services.
