Elizabeta Barbara Opperman, called "Lizzie" at home, was the youngest of eight siblings born to Christian Opperman & Wilhelime/a "Mina/Meana/Minnie" geboren (née) Probst Opperman. Christian & Wilhelmine/a were born, married, and had their eldest child in Braunschweig aka Brunswick, Lower Saxony aka Niedersachsen, Germany. They left out of Bremerhaven, on a ship called "Bremen," immigrating to America through New Orleans in 1858, bound for Wisconsin where they lived in Darlington until 1867, then finally just over the boarder in St Sebald / Strawberry Point, Clayton County, Iowa.

Elizabeta Barbara Opperman was baptized and interred, as written in the church registry, in the St Sebald German Lutheran Church, Strawberry Point, Clayton County, Iowa. Lizzie also appears on the US Census when she was 7 in 1880 & the Iowa State Census when she was 12, as well as one of Christian Opperman's children listed at the probate of his will, then, too, for her mother Wilhelmina's, even though Lizzie preceded her in death (her mother probably wrote it earlier without that sad inkling). Lizzie was born, died, and is buried in St. Sebald / Strawberry Point, Clayton County, Iowa, near the Wisconsin border.

Lizzie & her siblings were:

1. Wilhelmine "Mena/Minnie" geb. Opperman Opperman 1855-1920
m. 1876 H.August Opperman
{the one child born back in Germany, on ship's passenger manifest, age 2}
