Christian Opperman & Wilhelime/a "Mina/Meana/Minnie" geboren (née) Probst Opperman had eight children. Christian & Wilhelmine/a were born, married, and had their eldest child in Braunschweig aka Brunswick, Lower Saxony aka Niedersachsen, Germany. They left out of Bremerhaven, on a ship called "Bremen," immigrating to America through New Orleans in 1858, bound for Wisconsin where they lived in Darlington, Lafayette County until 1867, then finally just over the boarder in St Sebald / Strawberry Point, Clayton County, Iowa.
