John M. Tebbe, 311 North Independence street, Tipton, died at 11 o'clock Thursday morning at his home. He had been ill since September of 1958 when he fell at his home. Born Feb. 26, 1882, in Brookville, he was the son of William and Anna Gruenker Tebbe. He was married to Miss Katherine Mattingly Oct. 7, 1908. He was a member of St. John the Baptist Catholic Church in Tipton, the Holy Name society and was a fifty year member of the Tipton Knights of Columbus Lodge. He was a retired farmer.

Survivors include the widow, Katherine, four daughters, Mrs. Raymond Schwegman of Hamilton, Ohio, Mrs. Elmer Schwegman of Brookville, Mrs. Edward Keller of Elwood and Mrs. Lawrence Tragesser of Tipton; four sisters, Mrs. Elizabeth Ertel, Muncie, Mrs. Joe Ertel of St. Mary's, Ohio, Mrs. Lois Mumchel, Brookville, Mrs. Ann Dishman of Richmond; five brothers, William Tebbe, Brookville, Theodore Tebbe,Bateville, Leo Tebbe of Brookville, Henry and A.J. Tebbe, of Tipton; twenty grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
