George Stramel, 62, who owned and operated a cafe at 135 North Quincy the last 15 years, died at his home yesterday.
Born May 9, 1884 in Russia, he came to the United States with his parents at the age of three and has been a resident of Topeka the last 40 years.
Prior to being in business for himself, he was with the Aetna Life Insurance Company ten years.
Surviving are his wife, Mrs. Lena Stramel; a son, Edward of Chicago; a daughter, Mrs. Robert Bess of Topeka; two sisters, Mrs. Elizabeth Appelhans of Chicago and Mrs. Barbara Schank of Hays; five brothers, Clement of Hays, Joseph of Walker, August of Bison, John of Ness City and Stephen of Pfeifer, and two grandchildren.
