Angela was born in Mastholte, Westphalia, Prussia (modern-day Germany) to Johann Caspar Heckemeyer and Anna Maria Peitzmeyer.

Angela was married to Stephen Heinrich Winkelmann on Aug. 28, 1866, at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Westphalia, Missouri, and they had nine children.

Angela died of metastatic liver cancer when she was 77 years old.

Mrs. Stephen Winkelmann died at her home at Westphalia on Apr 7, 1926 at the age of 78 years. Mrs. Winkelmann, whose maiden name was Heckemeyer, was born and reared in the Westphalia neighborhood. She was married to Mr. Winkelmann 59 years ago. She is survived by her husband, now 90, and by the following children: Casper and John, Rev. Joseph Winkelmann of Chamois, Henry of Westphalia, William F. of Jefferson City, Mrs. Henry Westermann of Westphalia, Mrs. Fred Melies, and two daughters who are Catholic nuns.
