ATHENS - Evelyn Caldwell, age 82, of Athens died Wednesday, May 23, 2007, at her residence.
She was born Sept. 21, 1924, near Greenview, the daughter of Tom and Rosella Weidhuner Tobias.
She married Harold Caldwell on Dec. 28, 1947, at St. John's Evangelical Church in Greenview.
Mrs. Caldwell worked for the Athens High School District for 35 years as a school cafeteria manager.
She was a member of Sherman United Methodist Church. She enjoyed spending time working in her flower garden and with her family.
Surviving are her husband, Harold; three daughters, Nancy (husband, Jerry) Abbott and Ronda (husband, Rich) Lahnum, both of Sherman and Sandra (husband, John) Dunlap of Phoenix; six grandchildren, Scott and Jerad Abbott, Ryan and Chad Lahnum, Sara Revere and Kyla Dunlap; eight great-grandchildren, Aidan, Brendan, Carson, Anderson, Jacob, Grace, Jadeyn and Gage; brother, Delbert (wife, Marilyn) Tobias of Athens; and two sisters, Lucille (husband, Richard) Elliott of Greenview and Darlene Davis of Springfield.
Visitation will be held from 10 a.m. until time of services at 11 a.m. Saturday, May 26, 2007, at Mott and Henning Funeral Home in Athens, with the Rev. Mike Pennell officiating.
Burial will be in Joel Hall Cemetery in Athens.
Memorials may be made to Sherman United Methodist Church (pew remodeling) or Memorial Home Services.
