Reinhard George Langer, 94-year-old resident of Pierz, passed away peacefully Wednesday, April 15, 2015, at the Pierz Villa surrounded by his family.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11 a.m. Monday, April 20, at St. Joseph's Catholic Church in Pierz, with Father Gerald Dalseth officiating and Father Kenneth Popp con-celebrating. Burial will take place at St. Joseph's Parish Cemetery in Pierz.

Reinie was born July 10, 1920, in Granite Township, Morrison County to Alois and Priscilla (Kapsner) Langer. He attended country school in Granite Township east of Lastrup. He was united in marriage to Emogene Kippley, June 1, 1948, at St. Josephs Catholic Church in Pierz. The couple farmed east of Pierz in Hillman Township until their retirement in 1987. In their retirement, the couple enjoyed traveling to Europe, Alaska, and around the United States. Reinie enjoyed hunting, fishing, winning at cards, watching the Minnesota Twins, word finds, and playing bingo. He also enjoyed entertaining friends and family with potato pancakes and sausage. Reinie was a tender-hearted man with a positive attitude. He always found the good in life. He was a member of the Fourth Degree Knights of Columbus, St. Josephs Catholic Church and previously St. Ritas Church in Hillman.

Reinie was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Emogene (Sept. 1, 2001); children, Barbara Jean, Jerome, Gerard, Anne Marie, and Jonathan; brothers Ben, Edward, Wilfred, and Tony; and sister Laura Stangl.

Reinie is survived by children, Marella (Dennis) Larson, Theresa (Gary) Gohl, Joe Langer and Tony (Jonelle Brisk) Langer; brother, Victor (Doris) Langer; and sister, Regina Derfler; 11 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren; sisters-in-law, Romell (Harold) Welle and Regina Langer; and many loving nieces and nephews.
