Mary was born in Hill County, Texas, to the late Jan Ignác "John" and Rozina Zofie "Rosie" (Neckar) Mynar. She attended Brigman School in Penelope and on Sept. 12, 1932, was united in marriage to Charlie Mikuda in West. Mary was a homemaker and helped on the family farm most of her life. She also worked for the Village Bakery in West for a short time. She enjoyed gardening, fishing, cooking, baking kolaches, quilting, and she especially loved growing and tending to her large flower garden. Mary also volunteered gardening at the church, cemetery, and nursing home. She was a faithful member of the Church of the Nativity B.V.M. in Penelope, SPJST Lodge #145, Penelope Altar Society, and Catholic Daughters of America Court #829.
Mary was preceded in death by her husband, Charlie, on January 13, 1977; brothers: Ben Mynar, Felix Mynar, Joe Mynar, and John Mynar; sisters: Hattie Kramer, Annie Ondrej, Rosie Bartosh, Lillie De Jong, and Martha Hutyra; son-in-law, Shorty Stuckly; and great-great-granddaughter, Laney Richard.
Survivors include son, George Mikuda and wife, Jeannie, of Mesquite; daughter, Evelyn Stuckly, of Mt. Calm; grandchildren, Darlene Herring and husband, Eddy, Elton Stuckly Jr. and wife, Peggy, Charlotte Hromadka and husband, James, Mary Lou Mynar and husband, George, Ed Mikuda and wife, Lana, and Donna Mikuda; 12 great-grandchildren; 10 great-great-grandchildren; sister, Adele Sembera, of West; sisters-in-law, Helen Mynar, of Abbott, and Mary Mikuda, of Temple; and several nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.
