Ben Felix Mynar, age 88, of Abbott, passed away Wednesday, June 8, 2005 at Hillcrest Baptist Medical Center in Waco.

A rosary will be recited 8:00 p.m. Friday at St. Mary's Catholic Church of the Assumption in West by Rev. Vincent Chacko, IMS. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:00 a.m. Saturday at St. Mary's Catholic Church of the Assumption with Rev. Ed Karasek and Rev. Vincent Chacko IMS as celebrants. Burial will follow at St. Mary's Cemetery.

Mr. Mynar was born on January 13, 1917 in Hill County, the son of John and Rosie (Neckar) Mynar. He attended Brickman School in Hill County and St. Joseph School in Cottonwood. On October 9, 1940 he was united in marriage to Helen Frances Pavlas in West. He was a farmer and rancher all of his life and a lifelong member of St. Mary's Catholic Church of the Assumption and S.P.J.S.T. Lodge No. 6. Ben enjoyed hunting and fishing.

His parents, three brothers, John Mynar, Felix Mynar, and Joe Mynar; four sisters, Rosie Bartosh, Annie Ondrej, Lillie DeJong, and Martha Hutyra; and a great-grandson, Garrett Cinch Rieger all preceded him in death.

Survivors include his beloved wife of 64 years, Helen Mynar; three sons, Bennie Mynar and his wife Lillie Marie and Larry Mynar and his wife Barbara, all of Abbott, and Marvin Mynar and his wife Cindy of Smith Bend; four daughters, Jeanette Rieger and her husband Wilfred, Bernadette Kutscherousky and her husband Tommy, and Helen Snider and her husband Edward, all of West; and Gloria Allen of Abbott; a daughter-in-law, Rose Mynar of Abbott; three sisters, Hattie Kramer of San Diego, California, and Mary Mikuda and Adel Sembera, both of West; 28 grandchildren; 3 step grandchildren; 39 great-grandchildren; 10 step great-grandchildren; 1 great-great granddaughter; and several nieces, nephews, and other relativies.

Active pallbearers are Wilfred Rieger Jr., Bennie Mynar Jr., Larry Mynar Jr., Marvin Mynar Jr., Tommy Kutscherousky Jr., and Shane Snider.

Honorary pallbearers are Brandy Allen, Valerie Grimm, Stephanie Matus, Lori Miller, Tammie Nors, Roxane Hutyra, and Shannon Snider.

Memorials may be made to St. Mary's Parish Center.
