Kenneth C. Rhoda

Valparaiso - Kenneth C. (Dan) Rhoda, 73, of Valparaiso, died Tuesday, Dec. 10, 1991, at the Mary Bartz Hospice Center, Valparaiso.

He was born March 27, 1918, in Valparaiso, the son of Hans and Edna (Lane) Rhoda.

A lifelong Valparaiso resident, he was the former owner of Rhoda's Servicemaster. He was a warden for the Porter County Sheriffs Department.

He was a U.S. Army World War II veteran, a member of AARP, Moose Lodge 1357 of Valparaiso, Ewalt Jahnz Police Lodge 165 and the First Christian Church Disciple of Christ of Valparaiso. He was a life member of VFW Post 988 where he was a quartermaster for 10 years and a life member of American Legion Post 94.

On Feb, 19, 1949, in Valparaiso, he married Geraldine Hunt, who survives.

Also surviving are two sons, Johnny and Danny, both of Valparaiso; a brother, Robert L. Rhoda of Valparaiso; and two grandchildren.

Services are 11 a.m. Friday at Bartholomew Funeral Home, Valparaiso; Dr. M.W. Robert Craig officiating; burial in Graceland Cemetery; visitation 3-8 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.
