Dryville- June 19. Howard J Scheidt 69 of Mertztown RD 1 near here, died in his home.
Born in Rockland Township, a son of the late Jacob and Mary Ann (Brintzeghoff) Scheidt, he was a member of the Christ Mertz Church, this place.
Prior to his retirement two years ago Scheidt had been employed for 20 years at the Allentown plant of the Mack manufacturing Co.
He was a member of the Kutztown Lyons, Rockland Rod and Gun Club, Mertztown Rod and Gun Club, the Pike Sportsman Assn. and the eastern Penn Democratic Club.
Scheidt is survived by his widow (Elda Barto) Scheidt and five sons, Milan of Fleetwood; Grey of Fleetwood RD 1; Lloyd of Dryville: Robert of Mertztown RD 1; and Harlan, at home; also two daughters, Blanche, wife of Mahlon Wagenhurst, Fleetwood RD #; and June, wife of Kenneth Miller. 19 grandchildren; a sister, Mrs. Sallie Angstadt, Topton, and two brothers, Walter and William, both of Dryville.
Services will be held Saturday at 1:30 p.m. in the Schofer Funeral Home, Topton. Further services in the Christ Church. The Rev. Alton F Hoffman will officiate. Burial will be in Dryville Cemetery.
