She married Hinrich (Henry) Klug on 15 Oct 1853 in Visselhövede, Hanover, Germany, and they had 8 children before emigrating to the United States arriving on 29 Apr 1874 aboard the ship Republic. They settled in Sherman Twp, Huron County, Michigan and had two more children (Ida and Sophie). Catherine worked as a midwife. Henry died in 1901 at their homestead farm. Catherine lived for a time with her son Henry Cort Klug and she died living with her youngest daughter Ida in Cheboygan, Michigan
