Freda Marie Dickey Terhark was born in Ashton, Iowa, on February 24, 1918. Her parents were Florence and Fred Dickey. At an early age she moved to Woodstock, Minnesota, where her father farmed. Here Freda attended school and grew to womanhood. On April 13, 1941, Freda married George Paul Terhark in Pipestone, Minnesota. To this union nine children were born, seven daughters and two sons: June Ford of Ridgecrest, California; Dennis Terhark of Alexandria; twin girls Gloria and Glenda who are deceased; Myrna (Mrs. Dennis ) Moen of Alexandira; Marsha (Mrs. Lonnie) Armstrong of Glenwood; Barbara of Alexandria; Gregory of Alexandria; and Kay who died in infancy.
Freda has been employed at Bethany Home for the past 10 years.
She passed away at Abbott-Northwestern Hospital in Minneapolis at the age of 67 years, 6 months and 21 days. She leaves to mourn her passing, her children; mother Florence Dickey; 13 grandchildren; 2 great grandchildren; seven sisters. Freda was preceded in death by her father, three daughters and husband.
Funeral services were September 14, 1985 at the First Lutheran Church, Alexandria, Minnesota with Rev. Keith Lentz officiating. Interment was in Kinkead Cemetery, Alexandria, Minnesota. Pallbearers were Wayne Kuester, John Dickey, Richard Hansen, Harvey Hansen, Don Alstead and Bernie Marquardson. Arrangements were with Anderson Funeral Home.
