Funeral Mass will be celebrated Friday, February 5th, 2010 for 90-year-old Everett Kiefer of Perryville, who died Monday, February 1st, 2010 at his home.

He was born June 3rd, 1919 in Perry County, the son of Herman and Bernice Zahner Kiefer. They preceded him in death.

He was married to Lula Brotherton on Jan. 1, 1940 in Perryville. She preceded him in death.

He is survived by a son, Robert "Bob" Kiefer of St. Ann; three grandchildren, Sherry (Jerry) Mullins of St. Charles, Bobby Kiefer, Jr. of St. Ann, Judith (Russell) Childrers of Overland, nine great grandchildren, six great-great grandchildren, and a very, very special friend Billie Balsman.

He was preceded in death by a daughter in law, six sisters, and five brothers.

He was a World War II Army Veteran, serving in the 69th Infantry Division. During his service he was awarded three Bronze Stars and the Purple Heart.

He worked and retired from International Shoe Company, as well as being a farmer all of his life. He was a very hard worker and he loved to work. He was a member of the St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church, also a member of the American Legion.

Visitation will be 5-9:00 pm, Thursday, February 4th, at the Miller Family Funeral Home in Perryville. A Parish Wake will be held at 6:00 pm.

Visitation will continue on Friday, February 5th, from 6:30-9:50 am.

Funeral Mass for 90-year-old Everett Kiefer of Perryville will be celebrated at 10:00 am Friday, February 5th, 2010 at the St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church. The Rev. Milton Ryan, CM will officiate.

Burial will follow in the Home Cemetery with Graveside Military Honors courtesy of the American Legion and the Delta Team.
