He was born July 7th, 1921 in Perry County, the son of Herman C. and Bernice (Zahner) Kiefer who both preceded in death.
He is survived by five sons and three daughters: Michael K. and Wilma Kiefer, Troy J. and Anna Kiefer, Louise M. and Roy Finger, Daniel H. and Darlene Kiefer, Kathy A. and Bill Fischer and Mary T. and Ricky Hoehn all of Perryville; Kenneth A. Kiefer of Jackson and Dwight D. Kiefer of Cape Girardeau.
He married Mildred T. Glaub on December 8th, 1950. She survives in Perryville.
Four sisters and two brothers also survive:
Evelyn Swan of St. Louis; Everett Kiefer, Viola Sides, Eileen Kadavi and Herman J. Kiefer, all of Perryville; and Lillian Cleary of St. Mary.
He is also survived by 21 grandchildren and five great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by a daughter, three grandchildren, one sister and two brothers.
He was a member of St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church, Knights of Columbus - where he was a 3rd degree member, St. Vincent Society, Ministry to the Elderly, Eucharistic Minister, Past Commander of VFW Post 4282, Life Member of the VFW, American Legion Post 133, Army Veteran of World War II, Bronze Star, Victory Medal and Purple Heart recipient and received a battlefield commission.
He was a retired food sale district manager of Moorman's Feeds
