Barbara Hoff

Mrs. Heinrich Hoff, born a Fahrenbruch, was born 17 June 1863 in Frank, Russia, where she was baptized, confirmed and married.

She married Heinrich Hoff on 16 January 1885. She lived with her husband in happy marriage almost 42 years.

On 11 May 1899 she came to America with her family, where they lived in the first two years in Edgar, Geneva and Hastings, Nebraska. Since 1902 the family has lived in Loveland, have contributed to the development of the congregation to the best of their capabilities. The Lord blessed then inwardly and outwardly.

Eight children were born to them, three sons and five daughters, of whom one daughter and two sons preceded the mother into eternity as infants. The five living ones are: Heinrich Hoff, Mrs. Anna Walker, Mrs. Katharine Trupp, Mrs. Maria Grun and Lydia Hoff. All live in and around Loveland; they are all members of the church.

Sister Hoff had been suffering for about 10 years from epilepsy. At first she had frequent attacks, but always recovered. On 24 May she was alert and well and did not suspect that in a few hours she would be a body. She was with her daughter Mrs. Grun (Gruen = Green) in Johnstown and was happy in the circle of her children.

On 25 May, at 2:30 a.m., resting in the arms of her husband she went to the peace of the people of God. She reached an age of 62 years 11 months and 8 days. She is mourned by her husband, five children, three sisters, one brother, 23 grandchildren and many friends and acquaintances

May the Lord grant her the sought for peach and bless and console the survivors.
