Funeral services will be held Saturday Aug. 1, 2009 at 10:oo a.m./ at St. Michael Catholic Church for Lydia Richard, 81 who died Thursday July 30, 2009 at the Southwest Regional Medical Center. Survivors include three sons and their wives Robert ( Cindy) Sensat of New Orleans, Darren "Porky" (Sue) Sensat of Michicain, and Kerry ( Vicki) Sensat of Houston; two daughters Bonnie ( Ed) Lamb of Lafayette, and Belinda Corzine of Crowley; 10 Grandchildren and 17 Great-grandchildren; three brothers Huey Richard of Cutoff La., Louis (Belle) Richard of Breaux Bridge, and Roosevelt Richard of Crowley; three sister and their husbands Louise ( Oley) Leger of San Antonio Texas, Eva (Wayne) Carruth of Colmesniel Texas, and Wilma ( Archie) Thibodeaux of Lafayette. She was preceded in death by her parents Oscar and Euphemie Savoie Richard; her step-father Maurice Schexnyder; two brothers Ben and Gene Richard, and one sister Dura Menard. Lydia was employed at Acadian Hospital in the 1940's in Crowley. She lived in Egan when her children were of school age, she was active with volunteer work. she was an asst. manager of a retail store, and a professional seamstress also in Crowley, her favorite job was at Abbdalla's department store in Lafayette for years, she love sewing gardening and dancing. Burial will be in the Woodlawn Cemetery under the direction of Duhon Funeral Home of Crowley
