She was a retired cafeteria manager for the Newark Board of Education and a member of Our Lady of Fatima Parish. She was a member of the Floral City Garden Club, Floral City Women's Club, Floral City Civic Center, Crystal River Yacht Club, Crystal River Power Squad and North Bergen VFW Auxiliary and past president for two terms of the Retired Officers Association Women's Club. Survivors include her husband, John A.; a son Joseph Bates, Largo; two daughters, Sharon Bell, Hopatcong, NJ and Patricia Czeczuga, Edgewater, NJ; four sisters, Billie Seymour, Bradenton, Dorothy Crosby, Illinois, Ruth Aiello, Fairfield Glade, Tenn, and Lois Bailey, Inverness; seven grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren.
