He married Mildred G. Smith, on 28 Jan 1938 in Deposit, Broome Co, NY, the daughter of Alexander W. and May Smith. She was born on 31 Jul 1920, in Sanford, Broome Co, NY and died on 21 Jul 1965 in Hancock, Delaware Co, NY
Harry and Mildred had nine children: Harry Russell, Clista Louise, Jean Marie, Clara, Nelson Eddy, Thomas Jack, Barbara L, Eldred Howard and Baby Boy. All died in infancy except for Harry and Eldred. Harry, Mildred and the seven babies are all buried in Laurel Hill Cemetery, the babies all in unmarked graves.
He married second to Ethel Elizabeth "Libbie"(Garlow) Decker on the 25th of Aug 1966.
Harry worked hard his whole life, hauling logs and stone and farming. He loved hunting and was well known in the area for being an excellent hunter.
Harry died on 23 Jul 1993, four days shy of his 81st birthday, in Susquehanna, Susquehanna Co, PA.

HARRY R. CARSON, SR.
Harry R. Carson, Sr., 80, formerly of Sherman, PA died July 23, 1993 at Barnes-Kasson Skilled Nursing Facility in Susquehanna, PA following a long illness.
He was born July 27, 1912 in the town of Sanford, the son of Frank Carson and Mamie Gardner Carson.
He was a lifetime area resident and had operated a dairy farm in Sherman, PA since 1946. Due to poor health, he had been at the nursing home in Susquehanna for the past two years.
Survivors include his wife Ethel Carson of Lanesboro, PA; two sons: Harry R. Carson, Jr. of Zion, Illinois and Eldred H. Carson of Sarasota, FL; six step-children: Ruth Decker New of Montour Falls, Arthur Decker, Sr. of Deposit, Pauline Decker Ray of Greene, Claire E. Decker of Binghamton, Rosemary Decker Hatch of Codosia, and James G. Decker, Sr. of Susquehanna, PA; five sisters: Dorothy Crosby of Illinois, Ruth Aiello of Fairfield Glade, TN, Arlene Sokol of Floral City, FL, Lois Carson Bailey of Inverness, FL and Hildred Seymour of Bradenton, FL; five grandchildren; one great-grandchild and many step-grandchildren and also many nieces, nephews, and cousins.
According to Mr. Carson's wishes, there will be no public services. Private funeral arrangements are through Zacharias Funeral Home in Deposit. Internment will be in Laurel Hill Cemetery at Deposit.
