Clarence M. Stevens was born at Middlebranch, Nebraska on September 21, 1883, son of Roscoe K. Stevens and Louisa Andrews. He passed away at his home in Lincoln, Nebraska on September 14, at the age of 93 years, 11 months and 24 days.
He was married to Dena Johnson on November 1, 1911 at Sioux City, Iowa. At the time of their marriage he was a street car conductor so they made their home in Sioux City until the next spring when they moved to a farm in the Middlebranch community.
They farmed there for three years, when they purchased a farm two miles west of Middlebranch where they made their home until 1922. In 1922 they moved to a small acreage in Page where they lived until 1925. They then moved to a farm six miles north of Page which they operated until they moved into Page purchasing a service station. He operated this service station until 1946 when they sold the business and went into retirement. In 1964 they moved to Lincoln to be nearer his children.
He leaves to mourn his wife, Dena, two sons, Lee of LIncoln and Wendell of Omaha, three daughters, Mrs. Thelma Moore and Mrs. Opal Voehl of Lincoln and Mrs. Elton Grass (Lucille) of Eugene, Oregon, brother, Alva of Loomis, Calif., 16 grandchildren, 26 great grandchildren.
A daughter, Irene, his father and mother, five brothers and three sisters preceded him in death.
The following grandsons were pallbearers Larry and James Voehl, Scott and Kirk Stevens, Stanlely Ries and William Howard. Interment was made in Lincoln Memorial Park.
