Lawrence Lee Bruner, a Ryderwood resident for 14 years, died April 21, 1982, in a Seattle hospital. He was 78.

Bruner was born Oct. 3, 1903, in Burnette County, Wis. He worked for the Spooner, Wis., school district and came to Ryderwood after retirement.

He was a member of the Ryderwood Community Church and was past chairman of its board; a member of Masonic Lodge 206 in Spooner and a Boy Scout leader there; and a past patron of Adah Chapter of Order of Eastern Star, Winlock.

Survivors include his wife, Ruth Bruner, at home at 308 Jackson St., Ryderwod; a daughter, Gayle Weberg of Renton; a foster daughter , Carol Grider of Oklahoma City, Okla; a son, Dr. James L. Bruner of San Antonio, Texas; three sisters, Irene Lerback of Spooner and Bell Lindberg and Jennie Lindberg, both of Salmon Arm, Canada; a brother, Robert Bruner of High Prairie, Canada; and several grand-children.

Memorial service is at 2 p.m. Sunday in the Ryderwood Community Church with the Rev. Walter Gleiser and the Rev. Carl Wackerbarth officiating. Interment will be at Little Falls Cemetery. Those who wish to express sympathy may contribute to a memorial fund and may leave donations at the church.
