Mildenberger, 89, died May 19,2010, at St. Francis Convent.
She was born Jan. 14, 1921, in Sterling, to Russian immigrants Frank and Ann (Vohn) Mildenberger. She was one of their four daughters who entered the congregation.
She made her profession of vows on Aug. 12, 1941.
Sr. Elizabeth Ann contin ued her education while teaching primary grades at St. Sebastian, Milwaukee, Wis. She then taught in elementary schools for 20 years in South Dakota, Kentucky and Minnesota, and in Cudahy, Paris, Grafton, Nekoosa and Milwaukee, Wis., including St. Mary's Academy (1963-70). After completing a master's degree in educational administration, she was a principal in Delavan, Wis., supervisor
of student teachers at UW-M, instructor at DeSales Seminary High School and served in the Marquette University financial aid office.
Sister Elizabeth Ann is survived by the Sisters of St. Francis of Assisi, with whom she shared life for 69 years, two sisters-in-law, nieces and nephews.
