Robinson, Dorothy (Maass) 1922-2004

REMSEN, Iowa -- Dorothy Robinson, 82, of Remsen died unexpectedly Sunday, May 16, 2004, at her residence.

Services will be 10:30 a.m. Friday at Christ Lutheran Church in Remsen, with the Rev. Robert Eggers officiating. Burial will be in Remsen City Cemetery. Visitation will be after 2 p.m. Thursday, with the family present 5 to 7 p.m. and a prayer service at 7 p.m., at the church. Arrangements are under the direction of Rohde-Earnest Funeral Home in Kingsley, Iowa.

Dorothy was born Jan. 5, 1922, in Remsen, the daughter of Frank and Marie (Erichsen) Maass. She grew up in the Remsen area.

She married Glen Robinson on Nov. 23, 1948. After their marriage, they farmed south of Remsen for 35 years. She worked as a nurse's aide at Floyd Valley Hospital in Le Mars, Iowa, for 19 years.

She enjoyed watching her television shows and playing solitaire. She also enjoyed playing cards with her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Bingo was an activity that she was fond of going to with her daughters, granddaughters and friends. She liked gardening, raising her fruits and vegetables, which she would then can.

Survivors include two daughters and their husbands, Marilyn and Duane Huffman of Austin, Minn., and Susan and Raymond Eubanks of Alton, Iowa; two sons, Raymond Robinson of Remsen and David Robinson and his wife, Deb of Kingsley, Iowa; 13 grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; two brothers and their wives, Elmer and Alma Maass of Remsen and Wayne and Judith Maass of Los Angeles, Calif.; and two sisters, Ruth and her husband, Burton Anderson of Le Mars, Iowa, and Helen Bottjen of Remsen.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Glen; a great-grandson, Coy; and a brother, Roy Maass.
