Born in East Earl Township,a daughter of the late Levi and Sarah Musser Shirk,she was a member of St. John's Lutheran Church, Denver. She was the widow of Norman Messner who died in 1970.
Surviving are four sons, Roy R.,husband of Catharine Burkholder Messner with whom she resided at East Earl R1; Howard L.,husband of Helen Burkholder Messner, East Earl R2; Irwin and Henry, both of Denver R1; 16 grandchildren; two brothers, Elmer and Raymond, both of Mohnton R2; two sisters, Luella, wife of George Matz, Sinking Springs;and Vera, wife of William Tobias,Reading.
Service was held Monday at the St. John's Lutheran Church Center, with the Rev. B. Penrose Hoover officiating and interment in
the adjoining cemetery.
