Templeton - Mrs. Anna K. Langel, 73, of Templeton succumbed to a short illness at 4:45 p.m. Saturday at St. Anthony Hospital. She had entered the hospital the day before Christmas.
Funeral services will be at 9:30 a.m. Tuesday at Sacred Heart Church here. The Rev. William Buchholz will offer requiem mass.
Burial will be beside her husband in Sacred Heart Cemetery. Grandsons will be pallbearers: Norbert Bauer, Edmund Bauer, Gerald Langel, Robert Schlichte, Glenn Rupiper and Larry Dopheide.
The body was returned Monday morning from the Ohde Funeral Home at Manning to the family residence, where the rosary will be prayed at 8 p.m. Monday. Mrs. Langel, daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. J. H. Fangman, was born Anna Fangman on a farm near Arcadia Nov 13, 1880. A lifelong resident of Carroll County, she attended Sacred Heart School at Templeton.
Her marriage to Clem Langel took place June 15, 1897, at Sacred Heart Church here, with Rev. Fr. Schulte officiating. Mr. and Mrs. Langel established their home on their farm one and one-half miles south of Templeton on Highway 71, which is the present home. Mr. Langel died Jan. 5, 1940.
Mrs. Langel leaves the following children: Henry, Templeton; Mrs. Conrad (Clara) Bauer, Carroll; Adolph and Joe Langel, Templeton; Mrs. John (Mary) Bauer, Halbur; Mrs. Ed (Regina) Schlichte, Manning; Mrs. Albert (Hildegarde) Rupiper, Templeton; Edward Langel, Mrs. Louis (Kathryn) Dopheide, Justina and Vincent Langel, Mrs. LaVerne (Margaret) Murray, and Simon and Theodore Langel, Templeton; 39 grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
Also surviving are one brother, Joe Fangman, Templeton, and four sisters, Rose Fangman, Mrs. Ed (Mary) Kalkhoff, and Mrs. Raymond (Margaret) Weslager, Templeton, and Mrs. Henry (Kathryn) Kalkhoff, Clements, Minn.
Two daughters, are deceased. Anna died in 1932 and Beatrice in infancy. Two brothers and one sister, Henry and Frank Fangman and Mrs. Ben (Elizabeth) Lechtenberg, also preceded Mrs. Langel in death.
She was a member of Sacred Heart Church and the Christian Mothers Sodality of the parish.
