Funeral Rites For J.H. Fangman To Be Wednesday

TEMPLETON (THNS) -- Funeral services will be held at 9:30 Wednesday morning at Sacred Heart church for J.H. Fangman, 88, who died at his home here at 8 o'clock Saturday evening after a 19-month illness. Burial will be in the parish cemetery.

Mr. Fangman, a native Iowan, was born at Dubuque Sept. 14, 1857. He was one of four children born to Herman and Elizabeth Fangman.

Married Jan. 27, 1880, to Josephine Uhlenkamp at New Vienna, Iowa, the couple came to Carroll county the following month, arriving here Feb. 20, 1880.

They farmed until 1913 when they moved into town. Mrs. Fangman died Sept. 17, 1934.

His surviving children are: Mrs. Anna Langel, Templeton; Henry Fangman, Redwood Falls, Minn.; Frank, Manning; Joe, Templeton; Mrs. Ben Lechtenberg (Elizabeth), Templeton; Rose, at home; Mrs. Henry Kalkhoff (Kathryn), Clements, Minn.; Mrs. Ed Kalkhoff (Mary) and Mrs. Raymond Woslager (Margaret), Templeton.

A daughter, Clara, died in infancy.

Mr. Fangman was a member of Sacred Heart church and the Holy Name society of the parish.

He belonged to the Daily Times Herald Three-Quarter Century club.
