Reuben Borgens

Reuben Borgens, 81, Greeley, died Thursday, March 2, at North Colorado Medical Center.

He was born March 5, 1907, to John and Anna (Bostrom) Borgens in Johnstown.

On Jan 26, 1930, he married Erma Vogel in Loveland.

Mr. Borgens farmed in the La Salle and Kersey areas. He moved to Greeley from Kersey in 1951, and was employed by Weld County Road and Bridge until his retirement.

He attended the First Baptist Church of La Salle.

Survivors are his wife, Emma of Greeley; two daughters, Mrs. Eugene (Shirley) Robb and Mrs. Dice (Charlene) McKnight, both of Greeley; nine sisters, Mrs. Katie Foos of Boulder, Mrs. Helen Stroh of Longmont, Mrs. Elda Lenhart of California, Mrs. Irline Gettman of Loveland, Mrs. Mildred Meyer of Denver, Mrs. Betty Olsen of Laporte, Mrs. Ruby Hunter of Arkansas, Mrs. Fredia Sitzman and Mrs. Madeline Wambolt, both of Greeley; three brothers, George of Idaho, Raymond of Windsor, and Ben of Manitou Springs; seven grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren. Two sisters, Anna Miller and Rose Miller, and a brother, John, are deceased.

Services will be at 2 p.m. Monday at Macy Chapel. Interment will be in Linn Grove Cemetery.

Friends may visit from 11 a.m. until 4 p.m. Saturday and Sunday at Macy Chapel.

Contributions may be made to the First Baptist Church of La Salle in care of Macy Chapel.
