Charles Cerny, 75. passed away Wednesday morning of last week at Mercy Hospital after a brief illness. Mr. Cerny had been in failing health for the past several years and was taken to the hospital several days before his death after suffering from a heart attack.

Funeral services were held at the Grace United Church of Christ on Friday afternoon at 2:00 p.m. Rev Harry Lake officiated.

The son of Charles and Barbara Mincer Cerny, he was born April 23, 1886 and lived his entire life in this community. On November 20, 1912 he was married to Tillie Knotek at Iowa City.

Mr. Cerny was a retired farmer.

Survivors include his wife, four sons, Maynard, Robert, Donald and Edwin. Also one brother, William Cerny and one sister, Mrs. George Hudachek.

Pallbearers for the service were Emmett Bird, Reid Ford. Donald Crawford, Clifford Murdock, James Stock and John Smid.

Interment was in the Lone Tree Cemetery.

Sorden and Adams were in charge of arrangements.
