JACOB GROSS
ELWOOD MAN, 92, EXPIRED TODAY.
Jacob Gross, age 92, Civil War Veteran, died at the home of a son, Clayton Gross, 2605 South A street at 9:15 A.M. today of infirmities of old age. He was a member of the G.A.R. and Christian church.
Funeral services will be held Friday at the Baptist church at 2 P.M., in charge of Rev. Polly Couch Bowman, with burial in the city cemetery.
Surviving are the widow, Mrs. Violet Gross, four daughters; Mrs. Benjamin Jarrett of Orestes, Mrs. Farah Walsh of Fortville, Mrs. John Brickley, north of Orestes, and Mrs. Oscar Haislup of Frankton and the son at whose home he died. (Anderson Daily Bulletin, 6 March 1929)

FUNERAL OF JACOB GROSS
There is now another mound in the city cemetery to receive its patriotic offering of flowers on next Memorial day. Comrade Jacob Gross, gallant veteran of the war of the rebellion having been laid to rest there this afternoon, following funeral services conducted at the Baptist church by Rev. Polly Couch Bowman. Many friends of the family were in attendance at the funeral and members of the G.A.R. post there to bid a last farewell to one of their number. (Elwood Call-Leader, 8 March 1929)


Mr. Gross was a Corporal in Company E, 34th Indiana Volunteer Infantry.
