Kiel—Emil Uphoff, aged 50, passed away at this farm home in Town Herman, one mile south of Ada, Wednesday following a stroke which he suffered Tuesday morning. Mr. Uphoff was born on the family homestead Sept. 1, 1883, the son of Mr. and Mrs. William Uphoff, and lived there all his life. He was married to Anna Hameister of Town Russell May 15, 1912.
Besides his wife, Mr. Uphoff is survived by two daughters, Aurelia and Nelda, and a son, Walter, student at the University of Wisconsin; three brothers, Arthur of Plymouth, Herman of Glenbeulah, and Theodore of Sheboygan and five sisters, Mrs. Amanda Schram and Mrs. Alma Kimme of Howards Grove, Mrs. Meta Uphoff of Milwaukee, Mrs. Lydia Raeder of Glenbeulah, and Mrs. Bertha Brehm of Pittsburgh, Pa.
Funeral services will be held at the Uphoff homestead and at Immanuel Reformed church near Franklin. The Rev. John Gatermann will officiate and burial will be made in the cemetery adjoining the church.
