Howards Grove—Mrs. Gustave Werthmann passed away this morning at Sheboygan Memorial hospital following a lingering illness. She was born on November 13, 1894, the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Simon Schumacher, who live near Howards Grove. Mrs. Werthmann spent her entire life in this vicinity and was educated in the Howard Grove public schools. In 1917 she was married to Gustave Werthmann, and after their marriage the couple located on a farm in town Herman.
Survivors are her husband, one son, Elroy, at home, her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Simon Schumacher, two sisters, Mrs. Carl Knoener of town of Mosel, and Mrs. Harry Erbstoeszer of Haven, two brothers, Oscar and William Schumacher, both of town of Herman. Mrs. Werthmann was a member of Immanuel Reformed church of town of Herman and also belonged to the Ladies' Aid society of that church.
