NEW VIENNA, Iowa -- John H. Engelken, 82, of New Vienna, died Wednesday afternoon at St. Joseph's Unit, Mercy Health Center in Dubuque.
Services will be at 10:30 am Saturday at St. Boniface Catholic Church here, with burial in St. Francis Cemetery at Dyersville, Iowa. Friends may call after 7 pm Thursday at the Kramer Funeral Home in Dyersville, where the parish wake service will be held at 8:30 pm Friday.
Surviving are his wife, the former Margaret Bergfeld; two sons, Gerald of New Vienna and Daniel of Dyersville; two daughters, Mrs. Virginette Link of Farley, Iowa, and Mrs. Donald (Darlene) Steger of Dyersville; 19 grandchildren and 21 great-grandchildren; and a sister, Mrs. Frank (Mary) Freking of New Vienna.
