Louis Meyer, Resident Of Dubuque County For 50 Years Is Summoned
Dyersville, Ia., Feb. 6 -- Mr. Louis Meyer, a resident of this county for a half century, died at his home three miles east of Dyersville at 9:10 o'clock Tuesday morning. Death was due to asthma, from which he had been suffering for some time, though his condition was not regarded as serious until two weeks ago. Louis Meyer was born on a farm near New Vienna [illegible]. He was married to Miss Catherine Feldmann of this city who with six children mourn his demise. The children are Joseph, Gertrude, Frances, Ella, Alvina and Vincent, all at home. Mr. Meyer is also survived by five brothers, John, Herman and Clem of Dyersville, Bernard of Marcus and Henry of Lamont. His parents and one sister Mrs. Clem Kueter have preceded him in death.
Mr. Meyer was one of the progressive and successful farmers of the county. He was a man of pleasant manner, highly thought of by his friends and acquaintances and held in genuine affection by the members of his family who have the sincere sympathy of all in their bereavement.
The funeral will take place at 9:30 Friday morning to St. Francis church. The R.C.M.P. Society of which the deceased was a member will attend in a body. Burial will be in St. Francis cemetery.
