Matthias, also found spelled Mathias, Matthias, Mattias, Matheas, and Matias in different records, probably was born near Pittsburg, Pennsylvania, same location as his younger brother, Jonathan Dean was reported to have been born. Mattias Dean was married to Boadicea/Boadiasa "Boe" Gibbs on the 18th of February, 1832, in Sandusky County, Ohio, and they reportedly had eight children of which only one so far, James T. Dean, is much information known of; James T. Dean 1833-1921, married Maria A. Crantz; Henrietta 1835; Boadiasa "Boe" Dean 1837; Jonas G. Dean 1840; Elizabeth Dean 1844-1923, married Isaac VanHorn; and Benjamin Franklin Dean 1846-1921, married Lydia Rowley. Matthias died on the __ of ______, _____ (unknown date) in __________ County, _________ (unknown location) I suspect Mathias died between 1861 and 1869 because I find no documents for 1870 that exists for Mathias. We do not know where Mathias is buried.
