Daughter of Jacob and Eva (Rein) Karst was born March 11, 1904 in Barton Co., Ks and passed away September 2, 1983 at the Hoisington Lutheran Hospital, Hoisington, at the age of 79 years, 6 months and 10 days.
She married Daniel Dietz, March 28, 1926 at Milberger. She was a homemaker and a lifetime resident of the Galatia area.
Amalia was a member of the United Emanuel Lutheran Church, Milberger.
She is survived by her husband, Daniel; one son, Raymond, Galatia; and two daughters, Doris Hutchinson, Russell and Clara Niedens, Great Bend. Also, surviving are four brothers, Hubert Karst, Galatia; Constantine Karst, Robert Karst and Ralph Karst, Hoisington; one sister, Caroline Nuss, Hoisington and nice grandchildren and one great grandchild. She was preceded in death by one brother, Herman and one sister, Elizabeth Ochs.
Amalia will be sadly missed by her family and many relatives and friends."

Amalia Dietz, 79, Dies in Collision
Galatia - One person was killed and two others seriously injured, including a Russell resident, resulting from a two car collision in Barton County about four miles south of the Barton-Russell line, one mile east of Galatia Friday.
Dead was Amalia Dietz, 79, Galatia. She was a passenger in the car driven by her husband, Daniel Dietz, 79, Galatia. He was listed in serious condition at Russell City Hospital.
Listed in serious but stable condition at Hadley Regional Medial Center, Hays, is Alvin C. Webster, 44, 867 E. Seventh St., Russell.
According to the Barton County Sheriff's office, the car driving by Dietz was eastbound on Barton County Road 520 when it and a northbound Kaizer-Francis Oil Co. pickup driven by Webster collided at an intersection.
The crash was investigated by the Barton County Sheriff's officers. Neither vehicle overturned. Jaws of life were used to free Mrs. Dietz from the family vehicle.

Hoisington - Mrs. Amalia Dietz, 79, died Friday at Hoisington Hospital from injuries received in a car pickup accident east of Galatia Friday afternoon.
She was born March 11, 1904, in Barton County to Jacob and Eva (Rein) Karst. She married Daniel Dietz March 28, 1926, at Milberger.
She was a lifetime resident of the Galatia area. She was a member of the United Emanuel Lutheran Church, Milberger.
Survivors are her husband of the home; a son, Raymond, Galatia; two daughters, Mrs. Doris Hutchinson, Russell, and Mrs. Clara Niedens, Great Bend; four brothers, Hubert Karst, Galatia; and Constantine, Robert and Ralph, all of Hoisington; and a sister, Mrs. Caroline Nuss, Hoisington; nine grandchildren and one great grandchild.
Preceding her in death were a brother, Herman Karst, and a sister, Mrs. Elizabeth Ochs.
Funeral services were at 1:30 p.m. Tuesday at the United Emanuel Lutheran Church, Milberger, Rev. Robert Kreier officiating. Burial was in the Milberger Cemetery.
Memorials are suggested to the United Emmanuel Lutheran Church, Milberger.
Nicholson-Ricke Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
