Hoisington - Elizabeth Ochs, 83, died Aug. 27 at Cherry Village Nursing Home in Great Bend where she had been a resident for the past five years. Born Elizabeth Karst, Feb. 27, 1900 in Barton Co.. She married Benjamin Ochs, Nov. 9, 1919 in Barton Co.. He died Nov. 4, 1971. She was a homemaker and lifetime resident of Barton Co.
She was a member of the First United Methodist Church, Hoisington.
She is survived by two sons, Lester Ochs, Tucson, Ariz., and Hubert Ochs, Great Bend; two daughters, Mrs. Ruth Brack, Hoisington, and Mrs. Nadine Apel, McHenry, Ill.; four brothers, Hubert Karst, Galatia, Constantine Karst, Robert Karts and Ralph Karst, all of Hoisington; two sisters, Mrs. Caroline Nuss, Hoisington, and Mrs. Amalia Dietz, Galatiz; six grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
Funeral was Tuesday at First United Methodist Church in Hoisington with Rev. Don Koehn officiating. Burial was in the Hoisington Cemetery. Memorials are in the First United Methodist Scholarship Fund."
