E. Justin Werner, 65, a life-time Douglas resident, died Monday, April 27, 1987 at the Wyoming Medical Center in Casper following a short illness. He was born in Douglas on Nov. 1, 1921; the son of Edmund and Margaret (Sullivan) Werner. He was reared and educated in Douglas. After graduating from the Douglas High School, he joined the U.S. Air Force Cadets and served with the 380th Bomb Group, 5th Air Force in the South Pacific during World War II. After returning from the service, he became actively involved in the family ranch. He was married to Marilyn Park in Casper, Wyoming on October 20, 1954. Throughout his lifetime of ranching Mr. Werner was active in his community and state. He served two terms as a Converse County Commissioner and was a member of numerous county and state organizations. He is survived by his wife, Marilyn, of Douglas; one daughter, Debbie Simon of New Iberia, La.; two sons, Ed Werner of Del Norte, Colo. and Jeff Werner of Douglas; two sisters, Margaret Runion of Casper and Edna Barber of Douglas; two grandsons, Lee and Mathew Simon both of New Iberia; and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; one sister, Mary Ferguson; and three brothers, William, James and John.
