Mrs. Mary Rolfes Succumbs Tuesday
Had Been Sick For Several Months
Mrs. Mary Rolfes, a resident of this community for the past 60 years, died Tuesday at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Frank Langel, in America town-ship after a six months illness.
Mary Meinen, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Wm. Meinen, was born March 27, 1866, at Westphalen, Germany, and was 79 years, 2 months and 15 days of age at the time of her death. Deceased came to this country with her parents at the age of 2 1/2years. The family lived at New Vienna, Iowa, for a short time and then moved to Worthington, Iowa, where she received her education in St. Paul's Catholic School. Shortly thereafter they moved to Plymouth county where she has since made her home.
Deceased was married to Frank H. Rolfes at LeMars on January 14, 1885, and to this union ten children were born, three of whom preceded their mother in death. Those who survive include three sons, John and Joe of Le Mars, Frank of Merrill, four daughters, Mrs. Joe Heims of Worthington,
Iowa, Mrs. Barney Peppersack of Seneca, Kansas, Mrs. Frank Langel and Mrs. Leo Langel, both of LeMars; also 57 grand-children and 38 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death also by her husband, one brother and two sisters.
Funeral services will be held at 9:30 o'clock Friday morning at St. Joseph's church, LeMars, with Msgr. J. D. Fisch officiating. Burial will be in the Catholic cemetery in LeMars.
Mrs. Rolfes was a faithful member of St. Joseph's church and a member of the Christian Mothers society. Wiltgen's will be in charge.
