Hoisington – Herman T. Popp, 83, died Feb. 8, 1993, at Central Kansas Medical Center, Great Bend. He was born Feb. 4, 1910, in Barton County, the son of John Phillip and Magdelena Boger Popp. A lifetime Barton County resident, he was a farmer. He was a member of the Emmanuel Lutheran Church, Hoisington.

On Oct. 1, 1936, he married Esther M. Steinert at Hoisington. He survives. Other survivors include; two sons, Don and Duane, both of Hoisington; three daughters, Vida Singelton, Topeka, Gloria Kaiser, Great Bend, and Deborah Richardson, Ames, Iowa; a brother, Siegmund, Hoisington; three sisters, Mathilda Kraft, Cliffton, Pauline Maier, Ness City, and Rachel Nuss, Russell; 12 grandchildren; and 14 great-grandchildren.

Funeral will be at 11 a.m. Thursday at the Emanuel Lutheran Church, Hoisington, with the Rev. Mark Weber presiding. Friends may call from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. today at Nicholson-Ricke Funeral Home, Hoisington, and 10 a.m. to service time Thursday at the church. Burial will be in the Hoisington Cemetery. Memorials may be sent to the church in care of the funeral home.
