Rank Oetken Dies at Age 64

Funeral Services Held Yesterday Afternoon for Long Time Resident Southeast of Here

Rank Oetken, 64, a life long resident of Plymouth county, residing 11 miles southeast of Hawarden, died at his home Sunday from a heart ailment. He had been in failing health several months.

Funeral services were held at the Lutheran church at Craig at 2 o'clock yesterday afternoon with Rev. Walter Schmidt officiating. The arrangement were under the direction of the Barnard Funeral home of Hawarden.

Rank Oetken was born in Grant township, Plymouth county, December 4, 1884, He married Minnie Renken January 24, 1907. He was a farmer and was still engaged in this work at the time of his death. He was reared in the Lutheran faith.

Survivors are his widow; eight children, Elmer, George and Harry Oetken of Le Mars, Mrs. Leo Muth of Merrill, Mrs. Arvil Rozell and Mrs. Kelton Pralle of Hawarden; Earl of Akron and Darlene at home, 10 grandchildren; one brother and one sister, John Oetken and Mrs. Gerritt Renken of Le Mars,, and three half brothers and & half-sister, Herman, Fred and Bruno Brunken and Mrs. Etta Johnson, all of Le Mars.
