Lawrence B. "Hap" Brucken, 91, of Soldier, died Friday, February 10, 2012 at the Golden Acres Nursing Center in Onaga.

He was born August 30, 1920 on a farm near Kelly, the son of Edward and Theresa Sextro Brucken.

Hap was a farmer and a stockman in the Soldier area, and a member of St. Dominic Catholic Church in Holton

He married Dolores Osterhaus on April 29, 1950 at St. Benedict. She survives.

Hap was preceded in death by a son, John Brucken, who died in 1997, five brothers and four sisters.

Other survivors include four sons, Garry Brucken and wife Linda, Circleville, Pat Brucken and wife Beverley, Soldier, Allen Brucken and wife Dorinda, Alma, and Galen Brucken and wife Tena, Soldier; two daughters, JoAnn Trinder and husband John, Kansas City, MO, and Joleen Tannahill and husband Jack, Soldier; one sister, Dorothy Benoit, Rossville; seventeen grandchildren, five step-grandchildren, twenty-six great grandchildren and six step-great grandchildren.

Mass of Christian Burial will be 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, February 14th at St. Dominic Catholic Church. Burial will follow in Mt. Calvary Cemetery at Holton.
