ALLIANCE — Dave Schnell, 84, died Saturday, Nov. 13, 1999, at Good Samaritan Health Care Center in Alliance.
Funeral services will be Tuesday, Nov. 16 at 10:30 a.m. at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Alliance. The Revs. Martin T. Schnare and Richard C. Mueller officiating. Burial will be in the Alliance Cemetery. Memorials may be given to Immanuel Lutheran Church, P.O. Box 715, Alliance, Neb., 69301 or to Good Samaritan Health Care Center, P.O. Box 970, Alliance, Neb., 69301. Bates-Gould Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements. He was born Feb. 22, 1915, at Minatare to E. George and Eva E. (Reich) Schnell. He married Edna W. Bauer on Nov. 26, 1933, at Harrisburg. They moved to Alliance in 1946 and he farmed north of Alliance until his retirement.
Survivors include his wife, Edna; children, Shirley Varilek of Fremont, Marilyn Schoeneman of Alliance, Jerry Schnell of Alliance and Joyce Galyen of Alliance; brothers, Conrad and Pete Schnell of Alliance and Henry Schnell of Gainseville, Fla.; sisters, Eva Merrigan of Scottsbluff and Mary Heinz of Scottsbluff; half-brothers, John Schnell, Edward Schnell and Robert Schnell, all of Florida; and half-sisters, Judy Jacobs of Canada and Ruth Todd and Alvina Schnell of Florida.
He is also survived by 13 grandchildren, 26 great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild.
He was preceded in death by his parents, three brothers, one great-grandson, Michael Conroy. He was a member of Immanuel Lutheran Church.
