He returned to the US last week from 16 months overseas in the European theatre of operations. He reports Sep. 6 to his new station at Oceanside, CA. The bride has been employed in the Russell State bank for the past two years. Prior to that, she worked in the Triple A office.

Esther Louise Olson, the daughter of Henry and Katie (Foos) Rein was born Nov. 19, 1920 in Russell County, KS. Her death occurred Nov. 12, 1996 at her home in Russell at the age of 75 years, 11 months, and 23 days.
She grew up on the family farm in Russell County, attending the Pioneer Rural School, graduating from Russell High School. She attended Brown Mackie Business School in Salina and for a period of time worked for the ASCS Office in Russell. During WWII, she worked in the Russell State Bank. After marriage she was a homemaker, living in Russell.
She married Edwin W. Olson Aug. 10, 1944 at Hays, KS and to this union were born three children: Stephen, Carolyn, and John.
Esther occupied her life with the many varied activities of a homemaker, housewife and mother. She was very involved with her children's school activities and was very much a part of their lives. She was a member of Trinity United Methodist Church, United Methodist Women Hope Circle, Order of Eastern Star and Russell HD Chapter P.E.O., all Russell. Through her church circle she devoted a great deal of her time to the Methodist Thrift Center and the numerous other activities of her circle.
Those who preceded her in death were her parents, and one brother Edwin Rein. Survivors include her husband of the home in Russell; two sons Stephen Olson and his wife Sandra, Colo. Springs, CO; John Olson and his wife Laurie, Columbus, MS.; one daughter Carolyn Little and her husband Robert, Phillipsburg, KS; 5 grandchildren; one brother Carl Rein, Russell; one sister Dorothy Wire, Smith Center.
