Born Jan. 1, 1927, in Center Township, Russell Co., he was the son of Henry and Katie (Foos) Rein. He was a lifetime resident of Russell Co. He graduated from RHS in 1945, attended Kanss State College, and had lived in Russell since 1947. A farmer-stockman, he married Virginia L. Boxberger on Oct. 25, 1950 in Denver. He was a member of St. John Lutheran Church and the Elks Lodge, both of Russell.
Survived by his wife Virginia of the home; two daughters, Audrey Vaughn and her husband, Stan of Salina; and Karen Rein of Overland Park; a brother, Carl of Russell; two sisters, Esther Olson of Russell and Dorothy Wire of Smith Center; and a granddaughter, Whitney Vaughn of Salina.
The funeral was at 10:30 a.m. Mon. Aug. 26, 1991 at St John Lutheran. Burial in the Russell City Cem. Pohlman's Mortuary in charge.
