Verona – Thomas Schmid, 72, died suddenly at his home Thursday.

Mr. Schmid was a retired farmer He was born in New Glarus township. A member of the New Glarus Reformed church, he married Catherine Hammersly in 1890 and continued farming in the township.

Survivors are his wife; daughter, Mrs. Lloyd Davis, Verona; sons, Fred, Verona, Walter, Rockford, IL and Herman and Edward, Monticello; brothers Oswald and Casper, New Glarus and seven grandchildren.

Burial will be in the Verona cemetery.
