Lydia Blehm Foos

Mitchell - Mrs. Lydia Foos, 61, of Mitchell, died at a Scottsbluff hospital early Friday morning. She was born Feb. 15, 1908, in Fort Collins, Colo. She received her education in the Windsor, Colo., schools. She moved to Mitchell Valley in 1926 and on Nov. 15, 1927, she married Jacob Foos, Jr., in Mitchell. They have resided in the Valley since that time. She was a member of St. James Lutheran Church of Scottsbluff.
Survivors include her husband; a son, Reuben, of Scottsbluff; and a daughter, Helen at home; four brothers, Herbert, Hubert and Edwin Blehm, all of Mitchell, and Harold of Morrill; five sisters, Mrs. Jacob (Miller) Ruff of Windsor, Mrs. Victor (Pauline) Kindsfather of Greeley, Mrs. Fred (Helen) Gorr, Jr., of Lingle, Mrs. Charles (Alma) Monroe of Fort Collins, and Mrs. Albert (Emma) Guettler of Cozad; and two grandchildren. She was preceded in death boy a son and a sister. Funeral service will be held Monday at 2 p.m. in St. James Lutheran Church in Scottsbluff. The Rev. Martin Hofman will officiate and burial will be in Sunset Memorial Park.

A family prayer service will be held at 1:30 p.m. at the church. A memorial has been established to St. James Lutheran Church. The Jones Mortuary of Mitchell is in charge of arrangements.
